vienna, austria draft

river danube which runs through vienna has high water quality.. people swim or kayak in some parts of it.. the water in this part of the river shown in the picture has strong current.. some creative viennese attached a pool to a stationary boat to enable them to swim

my travel agent made a wise decision not to book us in a hotel in the city center since its a weekend and most of the shops are closed.. we checked in a businessy hotel in a quiet neighborhood.. the hotel has very limited staff.. the porters are the same people in the reception stand.. in the picture is the impressive looking breakfast buffet area.. the breakfast items not that good though

postcards being sold inside the souvenir shop at schonbrunn palace

the gardens of the palace called glorietta.. schonbrunn palace is the summer residence of the emperor in old times.. in the outskirts of vienna

the fountain at the end of the garden

this building which houses a museum is located beside the art school where hitler attempted to get into.. the school rejected him.. imagine the world history to be different if the young adolf hitler was accepted by the art school.. look at that.. parang cake o.. jologs na

cafe demel is popular for its sachertorte.. or to me a chocolate cake.. its not just a chocolate cake.. but a killer chocolate cake.. slather it with generously generous amount of whipped cream and pair it with cup of coffee.. ahh tsalap naging jologs na talaga

a group of young men probably college music students playing classical music.. for some moeny.. they also sell a cd of their recording for a whopping 10euros.. these guys will be good businessmen someday instead of musicians.. a police came over to stop them.. they managed to negotiate with the cop to play one more song to the delight of the crowd

imperial winter palace

kahlenberg is a hill 20minutes away from vienna.. a viewing platform and two cafes are perched at the top.. a spectacular view of vienna can be seen on the cafe terrace.. that circular lighted thing in the picture is the oldest ferris wheel.. it was windy and chilly when we were up there i had to go in and out of the cafe repeatedly to adjust to the temperature

the cafes offer hot coffee and chocolate to warm you up when its chilly up there

coming up.. salzburg
