airline food in the long haul flight to europe was not that bad.. we landed in schiphol amsterdam airport for another flight to berlin
the sanssouci palace located 20minutes away from berlin.. sanssouci means no worries.. it was built to be the summer palace of frederick the great.. the palace has a long history about it.. one interesting but trivial piece is that its residents took bath only once a year.. they only apply some type of lotion to make them smell good
the gardens of sanssouci palace.. to make the fountain work in the old times many barrels of water must be poured to a huge tank up on a hill.. the water will flow downhill and come out of the fountain to be viewed for few minutes only

brandenburg gate.. before reaching the gate by car from another berlin landmark called the berlin victory column you have to pass through an avenue surrounded by a forest which used to be a hunting ground for bears deers and hares.. our hotel is located near potsdamer subway station and is walking distance to parliament and 2blocks away from the building whose basement is the place where hitler killed himself
when i nearly got lost finding my way back to the hotel i found myself in the middle of a group of buildings.. it turned out to be sony center.. which is beside our hotel.. in the middle of the group of building many berliners taking a break at outdoor cafes
signages like the one shown here dot the autobahns and highways.. no wonder the german countryside stinks
