salzburg, austria draft

mirabelle park and surrounding areas were the shooting locations for the sound of music

crossing the bridge over zalsach river from mirabelle park leads to old town part of the city where shops have wrought iron signages

mozarts birthplace

after spending some time in berchtesgaden trying to locate the starting point going to eagles nest.. we were able to find the entry to the park which was halfway up the mountain.. we boarded a tram that would take us further to the upper half of the mountain.. after unboarding the tram we passed through a tunnel leading to an elevator that goes up more than four storeys high

eagles nest

the climb to the cross made me gasp for air for a minute .. probably because of the lack of oxygen at that altitude.. the scenery is worth the climb though

crows nears the cross waiting for people to feed them

thats hitlers summer retreat house.. it is said that hitler spend at most half an hour each time he visits this place.. it is because he was scared of thunderstorms and lightnign which occur regularly in the mountains

back in bechtesgaden after lunch of the best pizza i had while in europe we took a stroll in a market to see local produce

later in the afternoon we proceeded to wolfgang.. a laketown with a nice austrian neighborhood

the town square

aboard the ferry in wolfgang lake.. the scenery is refreshingly refreshing

back in salzburg the dinner tonight is in stiftskeller saint peter restaurant.. a restaurant which opened 803ad.. can you believe that

i looked at the surrounding and everyone was dressed formally.. while i was the only one who came in in short khaki pants and roundneck shirt inside a sweater.. thankfully nobody minded

it just breaded chicken.. but a good breaded chicken.. it was even made more special because we ate it at a 1,200year old restaurant
